Sapna and Alex
Indian weddings are one of my favorite wedding designs due to the beautiful rich colors and textures. Sapna wanted to blend the rich colors of her Indian culture with wine country textural accents. Initially the vision was for a bright and bold floral design as Sapna was planning to be in a nude sari, however a trip back to India resulted in her choosing to wear a stunning persimmon sari instead. The process of creating the color palette from her dress was wonderful fun. We did a full mock-up and played with the material and the flowers together. Sapna and Alex’s wedding will always be special to me not only because they were an amazing couple but because the ceremony was held at Kunde Ruins, a magical spot in the Sonoma hills where they no longer allow weddings. Flowers used were orchids, peonies, proteas, ranunculus, lilac, jasmine, hydrangea, lisianthus, snowball, king protea, and carnations.
